Mom's 1970 Wedding Dress

In honor of my mom, whose birthday was this past Monday, I've decided to showcase her wedding dress this week.

Isn't she lovely?

While she did use to make her own dresses back in the 60's, she did not make this dress. She claims to have found it in a little boutique in Maryland near where she used to live. It is no longer in her possession, but she says it was a satin A-line gown with a long train. The illusion top forming the sleeves and collar is made of organza. The veil is tulle with a hand-made satin bow. And the bouquet is roses and fern leaves.

Here's Mom arriving at the church in her own dark blue 1968 Ford Falcon, escorted by her father. Cool as a cucumber on a sunny October day.

We want to hear from you, readers! Share photos with us of brides past in your family--mother, grandmother, aunt, anyone!
